There are 2 teachers that stand out in my education life. The first was my 5th grade teacher Miss. Dovark. She was a true teacher who cared. She saw in me what other teachers did not a smart child who had a learning disability. she saw my dyslexia at a time it was not a very well known disability. Even though my parents disagreed with her assement of me she believed in me and taught me ways to work with my dyslexia. She taught me to love to read and how to listen and memorize what I heard so I could recall more than just what I read. If it was not for Miss Dovark I might have not seen Mitchell's disabilities.
The second teacher was my International Realtions Professor Dr. Nahla Yassine-Hamdan. Nahla really listens to her students and wants to mentor students. We get together every 2 weeks to talk. The most interesting thing is that even though she is anti-Iseral being from Lbanon and a muslium and
I am pro-Israel and a Christian she listens to what I have to say and considers my thoughts. In fact our daughters have now begun to play together. Nahla is a beautiful beautiful person and really a giant in my life.
